To cope up with the Bank's plans to venture into innovative Customer Services and application of Hi-tech measures in its operations, the bank needs suitable, well qualified and experienced professionals to man the following areas of its operations:
Database Administrator (Scale - II / III):
The candidate is required to be responsible for Supervising, Managing, Maintaining, Tuning, Replicating, Updating, etc. of the Data Bases of the Bank on a continuous basis. The candidate will also be required to monitor and manage the applications of the Bank.
The candidate should be a B.E. / B.Tech., graduate in Computer Science / Electronics / Electrical or MCA or MSc (IT/Computer Science) or M.Sc (Maths/Physics) with Diploma in Computer Applications from a reputed University of a regular college course with 60% marks with minimum 1 to 3 years experience in Enterprise wide Data Base Management or areas related to Data Base Administration in a large organization. The candidate should also be proficient in Oracle DBA Functions and SQL and should have undergone formal advanced DBA training programme from a reputed institution. Preference will be given to candidates with Certification in Oracle and familiar with IBM-AIX. Candidates having experience in Banking & Financial Institutions / Appropriate Certification are preferred.
System (Hardware) Administrator (Scale - I / II):
The candidate will be required to manage the Hardware and Operating Systems including patch updation, testing, sign off and liaison with the suppliers. The candidate will also be required to Implement, manage, monitor and Update the Security Infrastructure and Policies of the Bank at various offices/branches on a continuous basis.
The candidate should be a B.E / B.Tech., graduate in Computer Science/ IT / Electrical / Electronics / MCA or MSc (IT/Computer Science) or M.Sc (Maths/Physics) with Diploma in Computer Applications from a reputed University of a regular college course with minimum 60% marks. The candidates need to have minimum 1 to 3 years experience in IT related areas in a large commercial organization. Preference will be given to candidates familiar with IBM-AIX/Windows-2008. Candidates having experience in Banking & Financial Institutions / Appropriate Certification are preferred.
System (Applications) Administrator (Scale - I / II):
The candidate will be required to develop/ design/program on application development and is required to manage software applications and ensure quality process and is required to control programming process / system/ application development. The candidate should be a B.E. / B.Tech. in Computers / IT / Electrical / Electronics / MCA / MSc (IT/Comp. Science) or MSc (Maths / Physics)with Diploma in Computer Science from a reputed University of a regular college course, with 60% marks. The candidates need to have minimum 1 to 3 years experience in software development,/testing & maintenance of packages in Oracle/Unix/Windows/C/Java environment. Candidates having experience in Banking & Financial Institutions / Appropriate Certification are preferred.

General Conditions for all the above jobs::
A candidate can apply for any ONE of the above post only. Multiple applications can not be considered for Written Test & Interview.
Probationary Period:
The candidates will be on probation for a period of one year. At the end of the probationary period they will be subjected to a internal screening process to evaluate their performance before being confirmed in service. Probation may also be extended.
Fee:
Candidates will have to pay a fee of Rs. 300.00 by way of crossed demand draft drawn in favour of Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Ltd. Payable at Thoothukudi or Tirunelveli for the Written Examination to be conducted by an external agency.
Procedure for selection:
The candidates should appear for written examination to be held at Chennai, Madurai and Thoothukudi centres. The written examination will be of objective type. After evaluation on the basis of the written test, candidates will be short listed for an interview in the order of merit.
The candidates should appear for a Personal Interview. The Venue, Date and Time for Interview will be communicated to the eligible short listed candidates individually.
Place of Posting:
The selected candidates should be prepared to serve at Chennai or Thoothukudi or anywhere in INDIA.
Last Date for Filing Online e-Application is Feb 28, 2012.

The submission of the hard copy of the application which is printed after online registration is MUST and it should be accompanied with the following documents and a demand draft of Rs. 300.00 drawn in favour of Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Ltd. payable at Thoothukudi or Tirunelveli.
